Each month we invite into the world of Suboo with a journal featuring creative individuals that we feel align with our brand values and stories that connect with our Suboo community.
Over the years suboo’s signature knitted swimwear and dresses have become a main feature in our collections and today we share how these special pieces come to life.
People and craftsmanship is at the heart of what we do and we feel lucky that we can bring you our special knits from across the globe whilst supporting a family owned, female lead 4 generation company.
Malu and her family are masters at their craft, having been in business for 40 years they use the traditional techniques and finest quality yarns to ensure the highest standard of quality.
Our company is 40 years old, we have had four generations working in the business our grandmother recently passed away at age 100. We have around 40 employees, and many of them have been with us for over 20 years. This is great because we are able to bring together the collective expertise of our team to produce the finest quality knitwear to our customer. We are based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The economy presents many challenges and we are happy to have the opportunity to produce for an Australian business and brand such as Suboo.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING WITH SUBOO?
The company is run by my mother and myself and my daughter also helps around the business by trying on garments. Time goes by so quick, we have been working with Suboo for 7 years. I still wear the very first piece of swimwear we created together.
With the time difference we are often working late at night and early in the morning on video calls and WhatsApp, it’s a very special relationship we have with the Suboo team and we enjoy bringing their beautiful sketches to life. It makes us proud to know that our exclusive pieces are being worn across the other side of the world and that they are loved so much. We hope they bring you joy.
