SUBOO Presents: A22 Wonderland Avenue

Inspired by the carefree nostalgia of the late 1960s, Suboo presents an elevated collection of modern and luxurious pieces with a vintage mood and current viewpoint.

‘Wonderland Avenue’ imagines a street lined with old mansions nestled between high cliff tops and the rolling surf beach below, where the free spirited and eccentric minded crowd gather to exchange stories of their nomadic travels while the sun travels across thesky.

A soundtrack of Jimi Hendrix music plays, palm trees sway, and a sense of psychedelic freedom swirls in the air.

The collection combines feminine knitted silhouettes with keyhole cut outs and scoop backs, and soft volume in woven cottons, fluid tailoring and bias satins.  Tortoiseshell resin rings punctuate the Dylan knits, and custom multi-coloured resin beads give Bakelite-inspired detail in the Astrid story.  Brazilian-made artisan metallic knits are standout, with the peach and tangerine Biba stripe, the much-loved Luella in new olive stripe colourway, and a new fine space-dyed lurex Carla knit in keyhole styles.

Prints this season are statement, with the softly psychedelic ‘Cloud’ print in tangerine inspired by 1960s record-cover graphics, and printed on fluid satin gathered separates, dresses and matching swimwear.  The wood-block style golden ‘Sommer’ print is sweetly nostalgic, in feminine twisted and balloon apparel styles, and textured printed swimwear for a vintage look with contrast stitching, and made in Sydney.

Kaia swimwear in textured ivory and black lycra builds on the core swim range of mix & match separates, and this season features the custom dyed resin beads in two different colourways.

Designed to be paired back with the Astrid kaftan, and previous season Kaia swim shapes for an evolving look; always made locally in Sydney.
